The CADS Golf Competition 2021

This was another wonderful and enjoyable golfing competition for the coveted Honorable CADS golf trophy. Our first post-Covid golf event was an eclectic grouping which met up at Haarlemmermeersche Golf Club at lunchtime to enjoy a civilized cup of coffee before donning our golf armour and rendezvousing at the first tee of the championship Leghwater/Lijnden course. The weather was warm and sunny, there was a refreshing cool breeze, and our golf was entirely variable.
The championship was a closely fought race, but despite a great fight back on the second nine, the eventual victor proved to be – Edward van der Veen (once again)!!! So three cheers for Edward, who will proudly display the trophy around his residence for the coming twelve months.
We celebrated with an excellent dinner of tuna tartaar, mussels, and steak tartaar, washed down with an excellent Rueda Verdejo, before parting at sundown to return home.
