Commercial Anglo-Dutch Society

The Commercial Anglo-Dutch Society (CADS) exists to bring people together across the Dutch and international business community — creating meaningful connections, exchanging ideas and building relationships that last.

For decades, CADS has been a place where business relationships grow into genuine friendships. Our members come from different industries, backgrounds and generations, but share an international outlook and a curiosity about the people and ideas around them.

We meet monthly, usually for lunch at the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club, Dam Square, Amsterdam, where we host inspiring speakers and create the space for conversations that go beyond business – allowing members to exchange ideas, discover new perspectives and build genuine relationships over time.

History of CADS

CADS was established in 1972 by the then British Consul-General and a number of Anglophile Dutch business people. CADS publishes a regular newsletter, invites members and their guests to a monthly lunch (usually with a guest speaker), organises various social events and raises money for charity.

Our mission is to connect people, inspire ideas and give back — building a community where professional relationships become lasting friendships and meaningful contributions.

It’s a great mission and we certainly enjoy fulfilling it.

Friendship and Goodwill

At CADS, we believe that the strongest communities are built on friendship, trust and a willingness to give back. We bring people together to connect, share ideas, enjoy memorable experiences and support the wider community through our charitable activities.

Come for the connections. Stay for the friendships. Be part of something that gives back.

Want to become a member?

Our members come from a variety of disciplines, including accountancy, banking, commercial services, consultancy, diplomacy, hospitality, journalism and the legal profession, and they work in a wide range of businesses from small local organisations to multinationals.

Membership is restricted to approximately one hundred and is by invitation. We aim for a balance between Dutch and other nationalities. There is a one-time joining fee of €75 and annual membership is €50 (payable in January but waived in the year of joining).

The best way to join is to be introduced by a current member as a guest at one of our events where you can meet the Chair and members of the Committee. Alternatively, you can approach CADS directly using the contact form below.

We will keep your information private and we will not share it with any other organisation or business.
