HMG doesn’t want to do it, but there is a UK referendum underway…
A petition on the government’s website proposes to revoke Article 50.
Brexiteer Andrea Leadsom (yes, that’s right, the lady who caved in to pressure from Theresa May to withdraw her candidacy for Prime Minister after her reputation was trashed by May’s hitmen) sarcastically remarked that the government might consider it if the petition reached 17m signatures. Well, after one week it has reached nearly 6m, and the website has been continually crashing under the voting pressure.
So now there is a campaign to reach 17m signatures by the end of this week. Can it be done? Who knows? But if you are eligible to sign, and you want the government to start mitigating the damage they have done, go ahead and sign – and tell all your friends about it.
