It is with great pleasure that I bring you a formal invitation to the PAiE annual dinner from their President Stephen Huyton:
Tuesday, 29 November 2016
Pre-dinner drinks from 18.00 followed by dinner at
the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club
Gebouw Industria, Dam 27, Amsterdam
The event is organised jointly with the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce and the Department of International Trade of the British Embassy in The Hague.
The guest of honour will be HM Ambassador Sir Geoffrey Adams KCMG, the British Ambassador to the Netherlands. The main speaker is Liam Lynch, the President of Chartered Accountants Ireland, the professional accounting body of Ireland. Liam is a Tax Partner and head of Insurance at KPMG in Ireland.
The nationality of our main speaker is highly significant because Ireland is the only EU member state having a common land border with the UK. The disappointment felt in Ireland at the British vote was probably much greater than elsewhere so you can rest assured that the formal Irish view of Brexit and Liam’s personal views are outspoken. We look forward to him sharing his thoughts with us, not only on Brexit but also on the future of the EU as a whole. There might also be a small matter of the 13 billion euro tax bill which the European Commission would like Apple to pay the Irish government to reflect upon !
As far as travel to the venue is concerned, the club is located on the Dam square in the heart of Amsterdam, directly opposite the main entrance to the Bijenkorf, a 10-15 minute walk or 2 minute tram ride from Amsterdam Centraal station. The nearest paid public car parking is the Bijenkorf (5 minute walk), the Kolk or Amsterdam Centraal (both 10-15 minute walk).
Space is strictly limited, so register early to avoid disappointment. You may bring one guest if you wish.
The cost of attendance is EUR 65 per person.
To attend, please notify by email to colinandsusan@hetnet.nl.
I look forward to seeing and being able to talk to many of you there.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Huyton, Chairman
