I am a proud Scot, but like so many of my countrymen, I have chosen to live outside of Scotland for most of my adult life. In my career I’ve been in Applications Engineering, Sales, Consulting and HR. I came to the Netherlands in 2007 when my employer ING, asked me to join the Global HR Team. I was only supposed to be here for 2 years but loved it so much that I’m still here nearly 15 years later. I have 3 grown up sons who haven’t quite left home yet, and having left ING a few years ago, I now run my own coaching and consulting business based in Amsterdam.
People often describe me as larger than life, as I am literally tall and large! A bit of an extrovert, I’m also a deeply curious person, which is probably why I make a good coach – I am so intrigued about what people do and why they do it! I joined CADS relatively recently (January 2019) – Shelley Dicks-Schafer was my sponsor, (thank you Shelley!). I was keen to become a member so that I could improve my business network and I really think that CADS has delivered well on that for me. I became the Chair of CADS in January 2021. This was at the time of all of our meetings being held via ZOOM but at the time of writing this (March 2022) we are back to live meetings – thank goodness!
