Last week I was in Scotland, playing golf with another CAD at some of Fife’s finest links courses – Crail, Scotscraig, Ladybank, Lundin and St Andrews. 9 games in 5 days. A veritable festival of golf.
Good hotels in Fife are not easy to find, and our favourite, the Crusoe Hotel, was full. After some thought, we decided to book the Premier Inn in Glenrothes, which proved an excellent choice. This chain is roughly equal to a Bastion Hotel in NL, but the beds were comfortable, the showers hot and powerful, and the rooms clean and quiet.
In common with all Premier Inns in the UK, meals are taken in the Brewers Fayre pub next door. The chain is owned by Whitbread plc, and I have a loyalty card from them. Unfortunately this was left on the restaurant table one evening, and it disappeared behind the bar into a pile of identical cards!
The restaurant immediately replaced it with a new one, and after a simple explanatory email to the loyalty programme helpdesk, they cancelled my old card, registered the new one on the same account, and consolidated the rewards earned. Then they emailed me to say what they had done. That is GREAT customer service. We will be back 🙂
