CADS members are invited to a unique event – Scrum for Business Management – organised by Competa for members of the Institute of Directors and UK meets NL. The event will be held in Rijswijk on Wednesday, 18 April 2012.
Scrum is an Agile project management technique that has rapidly grown in popularity as it is very successful when implemented properly. Increasingly Scrum is being used outside the field of IT, for example in product development. Scrum is particularly good for dynamic environments as it accommodates change.
Competa has been experimenting with Scrum for all aspects of business management, including growth and operation. They are one of the first companies in the world to use Scrum in this way. Initial experience is very positive. It takes a long time for implementation to fully pervade the organisation, but surprising results have been achieved from the outset.
This talk will cover the basic concepts of Agile project management and its roots in Japanese industry, e.g. Toyota. It will then go on to explain how Competa are using Scrum to run Competa and help solve their growth problems.
This will be a business focused presentation. Places are limited so make your booking promptly in order to avoid disappointment. Snacks and refreshments will be provided from 18:30hrs., the talk will start at 19:30 hrs. followed by further refreshments and networking opportunities.
About the speaker: Andy Haxby is the founder of Dutch IT services firm Competa IT BV. Andy has participated in international and Open Source IT projects since 1979.
